The Self-Hypnosis Program

What is self-hypnosis?

Self-hypnosis is a skill which can easily be learned and applied at a young age. It is a very time efficient form of meditation or mindfulness which can be tailored to the individual and used to focus the mind in critical moments prior to competing to reduce performance anxiety.

"Anxiety can be a powerful tool to sharpen focus and boost performance, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can hold you back. Self-hypnosis helps you harness anxiety’s energy while reducing its negative impact, so you can perform at your best."

The teenage brain for all its complexities is primed for learning and acquiring psychological skills at an early age can be vital. Self-hypnosis, once learned, will be a valuable life-skill which can be applied in any area of the individuals journey through life. This can include improved performance at school and in the HSC.

What are the benefits?

Evidence-based hypnosis techniques can promote mental strength and self-belief helping athletes to achieve peak performance. For competitive athletes, managing their emotions is often the key to success or failure in the intense sporting environment.

Sporting or athletic talent is a wonderful gift. Its development involves years of nurturing that talent assisted by vital coaching and endless training. The psychological pressures of competing are inevitable and performance anxiety is at the core of the journey to sporting excellence. There is a fine line between success and failure and the key to success lies within the brain’s capacity to deal with the stress of the moment.

Sports psychology plays a significant role in modern sport at both the individual and team level. ‘Getting an edge’ is based in psychology. The talent of the individual sportsperson is a given. Hypnotherapy can also be a major force in managing sporting stress but is much less often practiced.

By tapping into the power of the mind through self-hypnosis, athletes can unlock their full potential: not just to win, but to rise, grow, and thrive under pressure.
